Middleton, WI. 9/1/2025 Beltline Shutdown

I heard that the Beltline was closed westbound at around 1 pm. I headed out there to see what was going on. I found a spot where I was allowed to fly my drone and proceeded to film what was below.

At the end of the video, you can see a Middleton police officer go down the on-ramp. He must have seen my car in the adjacent parking lot to the Beltline and came to have a chat. By the time he was near me, I was already done filming and had left. He proceeds to follow my car and pull me over. He then asks me, "Do you need anything?" I thought that was odd because he was the one with the lights and sirens pulling me over. He then proceeds to say, "What you're doing is legal," and that they were curious about what was happening. I then ask him if he needs anything, and he said, "No." He then said something along the lines of, "You are free to go."

Approximately 30 minutes later, I returned to the same parking lot to fly the drone one more time to assert the right to fly drones around the Beltline and police.
